Welcome home Adison!

We are happy to announce that we had our little baby girl on Wednesday, Dec 16th at 10:46 am. Her name is Adison Sue Jensen, she weighed 8 lbs 7 oz and was 20" long. It was a very smooth delivery, I was induced and in labor for about 5 hrs. We are both healthy and were very happy to be able to come home yesterday morning. Lynn just took his last final and we are very excited to be home together for the holidays!

We were a little nervous to see Ryan's reaction to having another little one around but he absolutely adores her! He always wants to hold her, hug her and give her kisses. He will always come up to her and try to burp her, then bring her a blankie. It's so cute to watch him around her, you can tell he is a very proud big brother!

This first picture is out of order, sorry!

About 7 hrs before our little girl arrived!

Right after her first bath, happy to be clean!

Getting ready to go home!

We're home!

Baby Update

Just thought we would give everyone an update on how our little girl is doing! Because Ryan was so big when he was born (9lbs 10 oz) we've been watching her growth quite carefully. My Dr. wanted me to have an ultrasound today to try to estimate how much she weighs so we can plan a date to be induced. During the ultrasound we found out she weighs about 8 lbs right now. I was hoping to be able to experience have a 7 1/2 lb baby but obviously that's not going to happen with this one! Also during the ultrasound they saw that my amniotic fluid level is really low. Basically my belly is all baby, and not much else. That would explain why it is painful when she moves and if she is ever pushing out on my belly with her foot or elbow it pokes out by about 2 inches. Her body is pressed right up to my belly. So, the concerns with that are that there isn't very much cushion around here if I were to fall or get hit in the belly or something like that. The other concern is that it is easier for the umbilical cord to get pinched off, stopping the flow of blood and oxygen to the baby. So my Dr. wants me to have another ultrasound on Monday as well as go to the hospital to do non-stress tests twice a week. I had my first test today, they hook me up to a machine and listen to the baby's heart beat for 20 minutes, making sure her heart rate spikes at least twice during a 10 min period. Everything sounded great today. So we will wait to see what Monday brings, make sure the fluid level hasn't dropped anymore. Then on Tuesday we will pick a date on when to be induced. We are hoping for the 18th or 19th, that way Lynn will be done with work and his finals and we wont have to wait to long and have another huge baby! So, that's the current update on our little (or maybe not so little) girl!

Christmas!

Yay, it's officially Christmas season! We love Christmas and are especially excited for our little bundle of joy that should be coming within the next few weeks! It's always such a fun time of year to spend with family and friends. There are so many traditions we want to start with our family. We both remember the different traditions we had growing up and all of the fun activities we did around this time of year to make it a special time of year. Not only is it a time that we can all be together as a family but it's a time of year that we serve others more often (not like that should only been done during the Holidays but it tends to happen more this time of year). Here are a few pictures from last year to kick off the season, Ryan was such a cute little rolley polley! He wasn't crawling yet but he would roll to wherever he wanted to go. We would often hear a bell ringing and find him under the tree playing with a big bell ornament! I must add I think our tree looks much better this year, we'll have to post a picture of it soon.
